URL Encoder / Decoder

Purpose

Use this tool to percent-encode text for safe use in a URL (a query value, path segment, or full link), or to decode a percent-encoded string back to plain text, without leaving your browser.

Main steps

1. 1Paste or type text into the input box.
2. 2Pick Encode or Decode in the options box below — the output updates instantly.
3. 3In Encode mode, choose Component to escape every character unsafe in a single query value or path segment (including &, =, ?, /), or Full URI to keep those characters intact for encoding a complete URL.
4. 4Toggle "Use + for space" to match the application/x-www-form-urlencoded style used in HTML form submissions and many query strings, instead of %20.
5. 5In Decode mode, malformed percent-escapes (like a lone % or an incomplete %A) are reported as an error instead of silently producing garbled text.
6. 6Copy the result once it looks right.
